Wisdom Teeth

Removal of impacted wisdom teeth is necessary when there is not enough room for the teeth to erupt fully in the mouth. If a wisdom tooth is left not fully erupted, the patient can experience swelling to the gum around the tooth from food and bacteria getting trapped under the tissue. There is also a chance of developing a cyst around impacted wisdom teeth. This procedure is done in our office and with the use of nitrous oxide or oral sedation. Teenagers and young adults will frequently have their teeth extracted before there is any problem as the surgery and recovery is much easier at a young age.
